Country French Décorating Style
You can bring a hint of the French countryside to every room in your house, if you are interested in that sort of style. The rules and elements are very basic and easy to replicate, even if you’ve never been to a French vineyard. Due to the popularity of the style, it is very easy to find accessories and other items to complete the look. But you don’t need to by special items. You can emphasize the way the French style is supposed to feel, and aim for that, rather than for exact replicas. You can organize your home and your plan by going through it room by room and making notes on what would work in the area and what would not.
Start with the kitchen. One of the easiest things to do to promote a country French decorating style is to line the walls with jars. The jars shouldn’t be empty—fill them with certain staples, like flour, grains, corn, sugar, and the like. Also, use them on a regular basis, as well as keep them clean and dusted. It’ll add a certain air of authenticity if all the jars are completely full and perfect day in and day out. Also, you can add old or rustic signs to the walls for additional decorations. You can make your own signs, as well as your own jar labels.
For an inexpensive French dining room, used white-washed chairs and a round table. It does not have to be some expensive, high-end interpretation of French furniture. A wrought iron patio or garden table would be perfectly acceptable.
